I received an update this morning (though Kies) for the Galaxy Note:

Updt 22 Aug: This version of firmware has remarkably improved the battery life of the Note. I went 5 days without plugging in, and the battery went from 100% to 35%. The following parameters should be considered:

- I don't have a Task Killer
- wifi, data traffic, bluetooth and GPS are switched off most of the time
- I did not turn on power-saver mode
- total voice-calls were less than 20 minutes
- very light overall usage (that means screen was mostly off)
Nevertheless, this improvement is astounding.

I recommend update using Kies, since I have seen it succeed on my phone.
failed repeatedly until I checked the option to permit Samsung retain information regarding my PC and Cell phone for 2 Years. It aint much a choice if the upgrade is destined to fail if you disallow gathering information about you
I am trying to download it using Kies over dedicated line but no hope.
I have experienced that if Samsung spot their mistake, they correct it in a matter of days. Best to report your problem directly to Samsung.
Hi All, I am from Singapore, I also tried updating my Galaxy note some 10 times 1st OTA then via KIES but none worked. Update fails all the time. Samsung should fix it. It seems every one is having the same problem.
It says update firmware to:pda : lr5 / phone : lr1 / csc : lr2.
became available on Aug 2012.

hei guys i found the work around to this problem 'PDA:LR6 / PHONE:LR1 / CSC:LR2' update. pls enable usb debugging in your phone and download the update thru kies again. cheers! cross finger. gd luck.

Iam using Gingerbread DDLC1 & I got an update through KIES for DDLC6 will that install ICS or will it remain as Gingerbread.. Plz help..
